3. Stop Order Authorisation


As a member of the National Operation Workers Union of South Africa (NOWUSA), I authorise my employer to deduct monthly union membership fees from my remuneration. This deduction shall be 1% of my monthly salary, subject to a minimum deduction of R120.00, or as determined by the union constitution. I may terminate this authorisation by giving 30 days' written notice.

4. Revocation of Prior Membership (if applicable)


By applying, I give notice of resignation from any other trade union to which I currently belong and instruct my employer to cancel existing deduction authorisations in favour of NOWUSA, in accordance with the notice periods of the Labour Relations Act (LRA).

Membership FAQ

Yes. You can join as an individual member regardless of whether your workplace is organised. In fact, joining is often the first step toward organising your workplace.

Your membership is confidential. You have a legal right to belong to a union, and we will never disclose your membership without your consent.

Subscriptions are 1% of your monthly salary, payable in advance, with a minimum of R50 and a maximum of R120 per month — as set out in our Constitution. Fees can be deducted by stop-order through your employer.

Once your membership is active, you can access the advice line immediately. For urgent workplace issues, our organisers respond as a priority — use the Workplace Support page.
